Lamayuru monastery floats above its name-sake medieval village one sunny late afternoon. Lamayuru monastery was founded in the 11th century and is a thriving Tibetan Buddhist monastery located high up in the Himalayas in Ladakh, India. The sage Naropa is said to have meditated here in a cave that is preserved in the central shrine of the monastery.

Patrick Klauss was born in 1971 in Lucerne, Switzerland to Czech parents who sought political asylum in the West. In 1981, Patrick's family moved to Toronto, Canada where he still lives and works. Patrick has traveled extensively and has always been drawn to sacred spots around the world. His photographs document his journeys. Patrick has had solo shows in Toronto, Canada and Prague, Czech Republic. His work is in private collections in Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Holland, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Romania, Sweden and the United States.
